Nancy's goal as an artist, massage therapist and musician is to
facilitate healing, always asking the observer, listener or client to
stretch themselves to a higher level of consciousness. The core of her
artwork is in the style of classical Renaissance. She was eloquently
taught by internationally recognized portrait artist, Mohamed Drisi, to
"paint what she sees, not what she knows". To this end, Nancy looks at
every detail and captures it to the best of her ability while adding
spontaneity of strokes and vibrant colors in order to capture the
personality and character of her subjects. Her favorite portrait
subjects are children, dogs and flowers, her "true loves". She works
both in oil and charcoal. Portraits can be commissioned by contacting
the artist.
Nancy's Divinely inspired works, such as "The 12 Powers of Man", "Out
of Darkness" and "Into the Light" provide the viewer with an
opportunity to "go within" to seek inner healing of the body, mind and
spirit. The painting "The 12 Powers of Man" will be on display at
Unity Village in Lee's Summit Missouri. It is her hope that Unity
students use this work as a teaching tool and a vehicle of healing and
inspiration. Prints are available by contacting the artist.
Nancy has exhibited her artwork in several juried shows in Illinois,
the Holland Arts Council show in 2003. She had a "one woman" show at
Awakenings Gallery in Saugatuck, MI in 2000. She has received
nationwide recognition for her portrait work.
